This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. It is written in plain English and covers only this website. If you visit the restaurant, phone us, or book a table through a third party, that information is handled by us or by that provider in the ways described below.
L'unico Ristorante Italiano (L'unico Chelmsford) is the data controller for information collected through this website.
This website has no accounts, no login, no database of visitors and no payment processing. The only information you can send us through the site is what you choose to type into the enquiry form on our contact page: your name, your phone number and your message.
That form does not upload anything to a server of ours. It opens your own email application with a message addressed to Lunicochelmsford@gmail.com, pre-filled with what you typed. Nothing is sent until you press send in your own email app, and we receive it as an ordinary email.
We also store one small preference in your browser recording whether you accepted or rejected cookies. See our Cookie Policy.
We use the details in your enquiry only to reply to you and to deal with what you asked about, such as a booking question, a dietary requirement or a large group enquiry. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: answering a message you deliberately sent us. We do not use your details for marketing and we do not add you to a mailing list.
A few parts of this website are provided by other companies. When you use them, they receive information such as your IP address and may set their own cookies, under their own privacy policies.
We do not sell or share your information with anyone for their own marketing.
Enquiry emails are kept in our inbox for as long as they are useful for dealing with your request and any follow-up, and are removed when they are no longer needed. The cookie preference stored in your browser stays until you clear your browser data.
Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to restrict how we use it, or object to our use of it. Email Lunicochelmsford@gmail.com or phone 01245 956896 and we will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or on 0303 123 1113.
This website is aimed at adults booking and enquiring about a restaurant. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
If we change how the website handles personal information we will update this page and the date at the top.
